  • Previous treatment with buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, detoxification, or rehabilitation programs.
  • Alcohol, benzodiazepines, stimulants, or other substance use.
  • Current medications and medical conditions.

What to expect

The first visit reviews current opioid use, medical history, prior treatment, goals, safety, and whether office-based care is appropriate. Treatment may include medication when clinically appropriate.
